Trump vows no peace with Iran before ‘unconditional surrender’
WASHINGTON — President Trump issued a warning to what’s left of the Iranian government on Truth Social Friday, writing: “There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” he went on.
“IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump demanded Tehran’s capitulation a day after also insisting on a direct role in picking the successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the initial wave of US-Israeli attacks on Saturday.
The former host of “The Apprentice” brushed off reports that Khamenei’s 56-year-old son Mojtaba could take over, calling him a “lightweight” and an “unacceptable” option.
Iran is currently under the control of a three-man council led by two regime hardliners, in addition to the country’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
Trump has spoken repeatedly this week about Venezuela’s recent leadership change being an ideal model for Iran — after US commandos captured socialist strongman Nicolas Maduro on Jan. 3 and the White House subsequently elevated the more pliable VP Delcy Rodriguez, who has agreed to Trump’s demands to free political prisoners and work with US oil companies.
However, the president has acknowledged that the Venezuela scenario is more difficult to execute in Iran due to the fact that more than four dozen top officials have been killed so far in the war.
Also Thursday, Trump endorsed reported plans by Iranian Kurds to invade from Iraq in hopes of inspiring a popular uprising.
“I think it’s wonderful that they would want to do that,” the president told Reuters. “I’d be all for it.”
