Kiss legend Gene Simmons tears into celebrities talking constantly about politics — and he names names

Kiss legend Gene Simmons tore apart celebrities who weigh into politics, saying they should shut up and focus on acting and singing.

The 76-year-old outspoken star slammed actors such as Ben Stiller and Mark Ruffalo who regularly verbally attack President Donald Trump, especially after his airstrikes on Iran.

“Basically, shut the f–k up,” Simmons told TMZ. “Do your art and shut up. Nobody’s interested in your opinions, that includes me. Who I vote for. Who I like.”

“Who the f–k do you think you are? People in America work hard for a living and they don’t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls-Royces. It’s time for everybody in the entertainment industry to shut their piehole.”

Simmons said it would be best if these entertainers just did their art because he said nobody cares what they think about the war and other political issues, including him.

The rocker then suggested that you might as well go ask the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star Kylie Jenner what she thinks of the war when the likes of Stiller and Ruffalo weigh in on politics.

It’s the latest drama between Trump and Stiller after the actor recently called out the Trump administration on X over the use of a clip from his 2008 movie “Tropic Thunder.”

“Hey White House, please remove the Tropic Thunder clip. We never gave you permission and have no interest in being a part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie.”

“Avengers” star Ruffalo has also attacked the president following the airstrikes on Iran and took to Threads to post an article about President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner who represented the US in negotiations with Iran.

“He [Kushner] was sent to make sure we went to war,” the post read.

In a post on X on March 2, Ruffalo encouraged people to call their “Senators and Congress members to say: No war with Iran! Two critical votes are happening in both chambers to stop Trump’s illegal, devastating war.”

Simmons’ comments on politicians and politics have fluctuated over the years.

During the rocker’s appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random’ podcast in 2022 he said that when Trump first got elected in 2016 he was happy but felt different a few years later.

Starts at the 52:03 minute mark: “I knew the guy from before then. … Oh, yeah people will tell you, ‘Oh yeah Gene was happy Trump won.’ I was, I didn’t want Hillary [Clinton] to be happy,” Simmons said. “I thought, oh businessman is coming in. He understands how to run things.

“The person that I saw first coming into power is not the person I saw within a year or two of that,” he continued. “But I changed, the way lots of people changed.”

Near the end of the podcast episode, Simmons echoed his comments about people needing to keep their thoughts to themselves about political issues: “I think that’s a good piece of advice for all of us. Keep your opinions to yourself, vote at the booth.”

The California Post reached out to Simmons, Stiller and Ruffalo for further comment.
