A man who allegedly killed two people at a Florida Walgreens took an unusual escape route — through the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, delaying the tournament after confronting an employee and stealing a BMW.
Christian Barrios, 32, allegedly shot and killed two people in a Ponte Vera Walgreens parking lot at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Barrios fled the drug store lot ,about a mile away from the site of the annual golf tournament, and cut through the PGA tour property, where he confronted an employee, authorities said.
While fleeing, he picked up and dropped a PGA Tour radio, cops said.
Continuing his crime spree, he then allegedly stole a BMW and committed a burglary while on the run, according to News 4 Jax.
Police arrested Barrios Saturday morning in neighboring Nassau County, officials said.
Barrios a repeat offender with at least 27 arrests, knew his victims, Sheriff Rob Hardwick said.
“He is out of prison again on probation, committing another violent felony. Here we are dumping all these resources and families are gonna mourn two people that were shot and killed in a parking lot of Walgreens over domestic violence situation,” Hardwick said, according to News 4 Jax
