20-year-old royal cousin of Princes William and Harry found dead at home

Rosie Roche, 20, a relative of the British royal family and granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle, was found dead at her home in Norton, Wiltshire, on July 14. Her body was discovered by her mother, Pippa, and sister, Agatha, in the home office, with a firearm found nearby. Emergency services confirmed her death shortly after 1 p.m.

At the inquest, Coroner Grant Davies confirmed Rosie died from a gunshot wound to the head and stated there was no evidence of third-party involvement. Rosie had been packing for a trip with friends shortly before her death. Toxicology tests are underway, and the investigation will resume in October.

A student of English Literature at Durham University, Rosie was described by her family as a beloved daughter and sister. The university also paid tribute, remembering her for her creativity, energy, and love of literature and travel.

Rosie’s tragic death has stunned the local community and prompted an outpouring of grief on social media. Support is being extended to her family and peers as they cope with the loss.
