Aussie mom hospitalized after devastating motorcycle accident in Bali
Loved ones of an Australian tourist hospitalized following a devastating accident in Bali have made a desperate plea for help to bring her home.
Alivia Jane Campbell, 28, sustained horrific injuries after her motorcycle collided with a truck.
“My beautiful sister Alivia is currently in hospital in Bali in a critical condition,” sister Amanda Jane Campbell wrote on Facebook.
“Our family’s world has been turned upside down as we try to support her and bring her home to Australia.”
She described her sister’s hospitalization as the “most difficult time of our lives”.
Another relative, Reese Campbell, wrote in a GoFundMe that she is “suffering from a severe brain trauma and a broken pelvis”.
Campbell said every effort is being made to bring the young mother, who is from NSW, home safely as soon as she is stable enough to travel.
However, he said her situation is dire.
“She is fighting hard, but she has a long road ahead of her.
“Alivia is not only a friend to so many of us — she is also a devoted mother to two young daughters who need their mum home.”
The fundraiser hopes to raise enough money to help cover Alivia’s medical care, hospital costs and potential emergency medical transport home.
Campbell explained that it’s “extremely expensive, and the costs are adding up quickly”.
The young mother will also require assistance with ongoing care and recovery.
Campbell said it’s a “heartbreaking time” for all who know Alivia.
The GoFundMe page for Alivia’s family has raised more than $26040.60 USD.
