On the morning of May 5, 1980, Marianne Bachmeier argued with her 7-year-old daughter, Anna, who then ran away from home. She never could have imagined that Klaus Grabowski, a 35-year-old butcher, would take her child’s life.

Devastated by the murder and enraged by Grabowski’s later claim that Anna had tried to “blackmail” him, Bachmeier refused to wait for justice through the authorities.

On March 6, 1981, during Grabowski’s trial, Bachmeier smuggled a .22-caliber Beretta pistol into the courtroom in her purse and fatally sh*t him. She fired six bullets, k**ling him on the courtroom floor.

Bachmeier was later tried and sentenced to six years in prison for the killing, but she never expressed regret for taking the law into her own hands.
