Iran struck Amazon’s cloud computing facility in Bahrain Wednesday, one day after warning 18 US tech companies including Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Tesla, and Amazon to expect destruction of their Middle East facilities.

Bahrain’s interior ministry confirmed a fire at a company facility following the Iranian attack, which civil defense teams extinguished. The ministry didn’t provide casualties or damage.

Iran also continued attacks on neighbors hosting US-Israeli military assets, a drone struck Kuwait international airport causing “a large fire” at a fuel depot, and a tanker was hit off Qatar.

The strikes came after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned employees to evacuate workplaces to “preserve their lives.”

Until now, the Iran conflict focused on military installations, logistics hubs, and energy infrastructure. The reported targeting of cloud computing facilities suggests Iran is moving into digital infrastructure attacks.
