ICE Arrests Former Presidential Candidate

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Haitian citizen and U.S. permanent resident Pierre Reginald Boulos in Miami for immigration fraud and alleged ties to Haitian gang activity. Authorities believe Boulos collaborated with leaders of Viv Ansanm, a gang labeled a foreign terrorist organization, raising concerns about Haiti’s destabilization and its impact on U.S. foreign policy.

ICE claims Boulos failed to disclose key information during his immigration process, including his role as founder of the nationalist political party MTVAyiti. He’s also being investigated in Haiti for alleged misuse of business loans. These omissions are being treated as immigration fraud and could lead to his deportation.

Officials stressed that legal U.S. residents must not aid criminal or terrorist groups. The investigation involves multiple agencies, including the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

In a separate case, ICE re-arrested Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez in Chicago for allegedly hiding the body of a decapitated woman. His earlier release and re-arrest have drawn attention to ICE’s detention policies. Both cases reflect ICE’s focus on individuals seen as threats to U.S. security and foreign relations.
