Missing 9-year-old Kentucky girl with autism found dead after extensive search, KSP reported

Kentucky State Police has confirmed that the 9-year-old missing girl with autism, Jenny Dim, has been found dead.

“Tragically, this is not the outcome we had hoped for. We thank all the first responders, the public, and the media for all their effort during this investigation,” KSP stated on Facebook.

A cause and manner of death has not been released at this time.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has released an update regarding missing 9-year-old Jenny Dim, who was last seen around 5 p.m. on Friday.

According to a press release, the search for Dim has reassembled, and volunteers interested are asked to meet at Oakbrook Swim Club in Florence around 12 p.m. The search will last from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Along with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the Campbell County Land search and rescue team and the Hamilton County search and rescue team will also be on scene searching for the missing child.

According to the press release, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office has searched two square miles by ground and seven to eight miles by air (drone and helicopter). K-9 units and law enforcement searched around seven ground miles, as well.

An IAN alert has been issued for a missing 9-year-old last seen on MacIntosh Lane in Florence.

According to Kentucky State Police, Jenny Dim was last seen around 5 p.m. Friday; she is described as Asian, 4’4″, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a mint-blue jacket, pink headphones, and no shoes.
